Announcement: Bushwick Food Box Pick-up

Nextdoorganics (nextdoorganics.com), a new urban/suburban farming company operating in NY and RI is announcing it’s Bushwick Food Box Pick-up. Bushwickers can select the size of their weekly box on our website (Individual, Couple, & Family sizes) and pay weekly via PayPal. What’s included is a variety of salad mixes, head lettuce, peas, beans, carrots, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, cabbage, cauliflower, & watermelon as they are harvested.

Food box customers will have the chance to purchase additional items each week including herbs, edible flowers, cut flowers, & fresh eggs.

Pick up is from the Nextdoorganics market stand at the Bushwick Farmer’s Market at Maria Hernandez Park (Starr St. & Knickerbocker Ave.) anytime between 9am and 5pm Saturdays.

By ordering online you will be able to secure our most popular items, save time at the market, make the local food system more stable and efficient, & support your community. For every 25 food box customers we recruit, we’ll donate a box to the local food bank.

About our company:
Nextdoorganics is currently operating a small sustainable farm in the process of organic certification, serving markets in NY and RI, and working with a handful of backyard farmers.

We are in the process of building capital and knowledge resources, sales and marketing channels, and logistics support which will be used to empower our network of backyard urban and suburban farmers to grow and sell produce as locally as possible.

Our goal is to develop food systems that provide access to fresh, natural, local foods and flowers to people in diverse communities while improving and protecting the environment and creating local jobs. We envision a distributed food network where backyards, school plots, and brownfields are used to support local food systems and strengthen communities.
